A practical field guide for Ma & Pa couples: family accountability, youth support, daily checks, spiritual leadership, trail teaching moments, and emergency response.
Ma & Pa purpose: Ma & Pa couples are not just chaperones. They help create a safe, loving trek family where youth are accounted for, encouraged, protected, invited to participate, and helped to connect the trek experience to faith, family, and discipleship.
Important: Ma & Pa leaders should not make independent medical, safety, transportation, discipline, or emergency decisions. Escalate concerns through the Trek Director, Medical, Safety, Registration, and assigned youth leaders.
Use this for names and high-level notes. Do not store sensitive medical details here unless leadership has specifically authorized it.
