Ma & Pa Dashboard

A practical field guide for Ma & Pa couples: family accountability, youth support, daily checks, spiritual leadership, trail teaching moments, and emergency response.

Ma & Pa purpose: Ma & Pa couples are not just chaperones. They help create a safe, loving trek family where youth are accounted for, encouraged, protected, invited to participate, and helped to connect the trek experience to faith, family, and discipleship.
Important: Ma & Pa leaders should not make independent medical, safety, transportation, discipline, or emergency decisions. Escalate concerns through the Trek Director, Medical, Safety, Registration, and assigned youth leaders.

  • Invite participation without forcing sharing.
  • Keep family tone kind, safe, and respectful.
  • Encourage hydration, rest, and communication.
  • Escalate concerns early instead of trying to solve everything alone.
