GPS coordinates

Capture coordinates for campsites, water staging, porta potties, parking, emergency access, lunch stops, and major activity points.

Support vehicle access

Look for a support route that keeps vehicles away from trekkers where possible while still allowing water, equipment, medical, and sanitation access.

Map packet

Your final route packet should include start/end points, campsites, staging areas, emergency access, ranger district contacts, and alternate routes.

Permit & Agency Notes

Forest Service and BLM routes may follow different processes.
