Committee purpose: The Photography & Media Committee helps preserve the trek experience through photos, short video clips, FAA-compliant drone footage, parent sharing, and a future-use trek archive.
FAA Drone Requirement:
Drone operations conducted for trek documentation, church communications,
stake websites, social media, promotional materials, training videos,
TrekHQ archives, or any other non-recreational purpose should be performed
by an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate holder operating in compliance
with all applicable FAA regulations, airspace restrictions, Remote ID rules,
and local land-management requirements. Trek leadership should verify pilot
qualifications before approving drone operations during trek activities.
